Message: “Why Does Church Meet Together”

1)     What are some of your reasons for coming to church meetings, either Sunday morning meetings or small group meetings? 

2)     Read Acts 2:42-47.  What are some of the reasons the very first church met together? 

3)     If we categorized the reasons why we meet together as a church, they could be: 

a)           For my own benefit 

b)           For the benefit of others in the church 

c)           For God's benefit 

Where do the reasons you listed in questions 1 and 2 fit into these categories?  Do some reasons overlap categories? 

4)     Read Hebrews 10:25.  Why do you think some Christians "give up" meeting together?   

5)     What attitudes might help us to avoid "giving up" meeting together?  (If you're stuck for ideas, try Hebrews 10:24 as a start.) 

Prayer suggestion:  Pray that God continues to strengthen us as individuals and as a church, and that we would excel at encouraging one another and blessing God with our worship.
