Update On Our Churches In Mumbai
Following the bombings in Mumbai we have received this update from Franco Lonappan who lead Tree of life Church in Mumbai:
Dear Friends,
Greetings!!
Thank you so much for your concern for us and the churches in Mumbai. We really appreciate your calls and prayers. Just to give an you an update of what is happening here. All the church people are safe. We have not yet heard of stories of any believers who died or were injured in the bomb blast that shocked the Mumbai city. Some of the members of our churches were in some of the trains that had the bomb and they heard the huge blast but God saved them. Indeed God has been good to us.
Right now things are back to normal in the city. I am amazed at the resilience shown by the people of Mumbai in such an incident.
They have still not found the culprits. There could be communal violence in the city if the identity of the group is revealed and the polical parties could take advantage of it.
Please do continue to pray for the following:
- Peace will prevail in the city of Mumbai - there will be no communal violence
- Political parties who are communal will not use this event to meet their vested interests
- That God will give wisdom to the administration and police department to handle the present crisis.
- There will be more accountability in the police department so that such things will not occur again.
- The corruption and the laid back attitude of the offcials that patrol the Mumbai coastline will be exposed. Most of the explosives are brought in from the sea.
- That God will minister to people in the hospital (near 700-800) and that they will be physically healed and also healed from the trauma that people have gone through.
- That God will be the provider and the comforter of the families who have lost their near and dear ones - the bread winners were targeted as all the bombs were placed in the men's first class compartment.
- That God will set the people free the fear that has gripped the people of Mumbai due to the bomb blast.
- Transport system of the city will be restored to normalcy
- Media coverage will remain neutral and truthful
- Peace between India and Pakistan- progress in the peace talks.
- Churches in the city of Mumbai will rise up in this time to pray for Godrsquo;s Spirit to move powerfully in the city.
